Well, i would think you would start in front of your hair, braid downward then wen you tie the braid pull it back into a whatever you want..

Part your hair in the center and do one or two small braids, then attach them together at the back with a ponytail or messy bun. To do this though you hair needs to be prety much all one length. You'll have alot of messy pieces everywhere if you have alot of front layers. Also, a little moulding spray or hairspray after will help.
