2. Begin with well washed, clean hair. Brush or comb hair thoroughly, removing all snarls. It will be easier to comb curly hair when wet, just be gentle. Brush and braid straight or wavy hair when it is dry.

3.

Comb out any part straight back. Then separate a section of hair from the rest of the hair at the place where you want to begin the braid. It's a good idea to make the part V-shaped, with the point of the V towards the back of your head.

4.

Separate the section of hair into three strands.

閳?Hold the section of hair in one hand and use the index and middle fingers of the other hand to separate it into three strands.

5.

Cross the rightmost strand over the middle strand. Hold all three strands in your left hand.

閳?Hold the leftmost strand with your left pinkie while moving the rightmost strand from your right hand to your left. Shift the new rightmost strand (used to be the middle strand) from your right hand to your left.

6.

Add some hair from the right side of the head to the rightmost strand.

閳?Use your right index finger to pick up a section of hair from the right side of the head and add it to the new rightmost strand.

7.

Cross the leftmost strand over the middle strand. Hold all three strands in your right hand.

閳?Grasp the rightmost strand with your right pinkie, then rotate your left hand so that you can grasp the leftmost strand in your right hand. Shift the new leftmost strand to your right hand.

8.

Add hair from the left side of the head to the new leftmost strand.

閳?Use your left index finger to pick up a section of hair from the left side of the head and add it to the leftmost strand.

9.

Cross the rightmost strand over the middle strand. Hold all three strands in your left hand.

閳?Grasp the leftmost strand with the left pinkie, then rotate your right hand so that you can grasp the rightmost strand in your left hand. Shift the new rightmost strand to your left hand.

10.

Add some hair from the right side of the head to the rightmost strand.

閳?Use your right index finger to pick up a section of hair from the right side of the head, adding it to the rightmost strand currently held in your left hand.

11.

Cross the leftmost strand over the middle strand. Hold all three strands in your right hand.

閳?Grasp the rightmost strand with your right pinkie, then rotate your left hand so that you can grasp the leftmost strand in your right hand. Shift the new leftmost strand from your left to right hand.

12.

Add some hair from the left side of the head to the leftmost strand.

閳?Use your left index finger to pick up a section of hair from the left side of the head and add it to the leftmost strand in your right hand.

13. Repeat steps 9-12 until there is no more hair to add. Repeat this pattern- cross the rightmost strand over the middle, add hair to new rightmost strand, cross the leftmost strand over the middle, add hair to new leftmost strand, and repeat.

14.

Continue braiding the rest of your hair as for simple 3-strand as far down as you can reach. If you have longer hair complete the following steps:

1. Shift all three strands into one hand

2. Bring your hand forward over your corresponding shoulder. You will now seem to be braiding in the opposite direction. Instead of folding the strands towards you, you will be folding them away from you.

3. Shift your hands so that the palms are facing away from you before crossing over a strand, and the palm faces you only while it is crossing over a strand.

4. Continue braiding in this manner to the end of the braid.

15.

Tie off the end of the braid. Voila! You've French braided your own hair!

Anyone????

ok well you take a little piece of hair and do one braid part and as you go on you gradually add hair into the bradi until its ad the end

Anyone????

Step One

Click to enlarge Beging by applying a styling gel, mousse or pomade to clean, damp hair and blow drying the hair as smooth as possible. A French braid in hair that hasn閳ユ獩 been washed that day and already has hair products in it also works well.

Step Two

Click to enlarge Remove tangles from hair before beginning the French braid. Take a 3-inch-long by 1-inch-wide section of hair just above the forehead or behind the individual's bangs.

Step Three Click

to enlarge Divide the section into three even pieces. Place the left section between the left index finger and thumb, place the right section between the right index finger and thumb, and let the middle section lie flat against the head. Pull the right section over the middle section and deposit it between the left index and middle fingers. This will begin to form your French braid.

Step Four

Click to enlarge Lead with the right middle finger and cut about a 1-inch-wide section of hair straight across the head, starting at the hairline and moving toward the middle section. Collect the middle section and pull all of the hair tight. The line of hair you collected for your French braid should lie flat and smooth.

Step Five

Click to enlarge Twist your left hand clockwise and move the section in between your left index and middle fingers to your right index and middle fingers. Pull the sections in your right hand and let the section in your left hand go.

Step Six

Click to enlarge Lead with the left middle finger and cut about a 1-inch-wide section of hair straight across the head, starting at the hairline and moving toward the dangling section. Scoop up the dangling section and pull this now-bigger section to the left, hooking it with your middle finger. Continue to make sure each section of your French braid is smooth and has equal tension on it for a uniform look.

Step Seven

Click to enlarge Twist your right hand counterclockwise. Extend the left index finger and hook the section of hair between the right index and middle fingers. Pull it to the left and let the section in your right hand dangle.

Step Eight

Click to enlarge Continue the slice, twist and shift process until the entire French braid is complete. Remember to always hook the section of hair between the index and middle fingers, not the thumb and index finger. Keep the tension taut but not too tight.

Step Nine

Braid a tail when you've come to the base of the neck, and tie off the ends with a covered rubber band. Add a bow or barrette when appropriate, or hide the tail by tucking it under the shaft of the French braid. Fix with a bobby pin or two.

Anyone????

yes it actually very easy once you have enough practice. i actually taught myself when i was little on my American Girl Dolls.

step 1. If you're planning on doing two you need to make your part and tie of one side in a pony or a bun just to keep then separate.

step 2. take a small section at the very start of the hair line and divide it into three sections as you would a regular braid and braid then as you would as you would in a reqular braid for about one inch.

step 3. while still holding the three sections of hair take some additional hair from the let and add it to the section you have to the left. after adding the additional hair, bring that entire section to the center of the three and pull slightly.

step 4. do the same to the right of the already started braid. add some hair to the section on the right and pull it into the center.

step 5. continue this pattern, being sure you pull a little tighter as you go. when you no longer have any hair to either side of the braid you end the braids with a regular braid.

your first few tries im sure there will be times you need to restart and have a few bumps. but if you continue to practice with these steps you will be a pro in no time :]

hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to email me
