For those familiar with african american hair...?

What type of hairstyles can I have while vacationing in Florida? I am going on a trip, and do not want braids. I was thinking a weave...but what%26gt; I would like to be able to swim, or pull it back if it is too hot outside.

You have to take into account the weather conditions that you might experience while on your trip. Florida is humid and hot, so if you pull it back into a bun or a french twists you can wear it to the pool/beach and you can wear it when you go out dancing or something. If you get a weave then I would think an updo, bun or a twist would be a great idea. Essence magazine should have some cool hairstyles for Spring and Summer.

If you have relaxed hair...just relax it as you normally do, because when it's straight you can do pony tail, curls, or whatever you want. Just be sure to take your blow dryer, curling iron, shampoo/condition, and a good moisturizer. That way after you swim, you can put it right back to normal easire. I don't suggest a weave though because the chlorine or salt water might have a bad effect on it. The other option is not to get braids, but to have your real hair braided in a cute style that is good for any situation...the upkeep will be easy and it will last for the whole vacation with minimal effort. Hope that helps, enjoy your vacation.

Take a ponytail extender, that way it'll be quick and easy and you have more time to enjoy youself.
